Wool is the body: lanolin-coated so spills bead up, springy underfoot, decades of traffic. Silk is the light: the finest strand, what makes 400-knot detail physically possible. ‘Pure silk’ at a bargain is almost always viscose — processed wood pulp that sheds, flattens and scars at one spill. We do not stock viscose. If a quote says ‘silk’, make it say which.
